West Bromwich town centre is generally a safe place to be and the area is well lit and extensively covered with CCTV.  Most people are generally very welcoming and helpful and will always point you in the right direction should you be lost. Obviously as with most large towns care should be taken when travelling to some of the "back streets" it's worth getting some more information about the area you intend to go to before visiting.

As with any other large town  you should always be aware that pickpockets could be around. Try to keep your personal belongings secure - make sure bags are zipped up and never leave it unattended, keep back pockets buttoned, do not place your cheque book and cards together. Be especially vigilant in pubs, restaurants, shopping centres and bus stops - and do not place your bag on the floor in toilets or changing rooms.

Alternatively, they can be found in a wide range of places, including: hotels, pubs, clubs, restaurants, shops, sports facilities, libraries, hospital, rail and bus stations,   Most of them take money although there are some where you can use a BT phone card to make calls.

There are three sets of public toilets located in the Kings Square, Queens Square and the Bus Station.  They are open during normal shopping hours and are free to use.

ATMs (Automatic Teller Machines or Cash Points)

These can be found at  banks, building societies, supermarkets, shops, public houses, petrol stations, but beware many small terminals located in shops and pubs etc charge a fee for withdrawing cash and are best not used unless you have no other option.
